Technology

Riverhill recognizes that technology is an important part of our rapidly changing world. To keep our school current; students, parents, and staff have access to internet at every computer in the school through wired and wireless technology. The campus network is protected by a state of the art firewall with advanced filtering capabilities. The use of technology is integrated into the curriculum. Through weekly lab sessions, which begin in Pre-Kindergarten, our students gain a thorough understanding of computers and their potential. The Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten also have classroom sets of Leap Pads. Beginning in first grade, every child has access to eee mini laptops. Our fourth and fifth grade classes use Dell laptops and our sixth through eighth graders are provided Macbooks with the seventh and eighth grades taking them home. The eighth grade completes a semester course in advanced applications and computer skills. In addition, our Riverhill community uses RenWeb™ to communicate school information and student grade reports in a private, secure manner.
