Message from the Principal
Welcome to Riverhill School! Since 1980, we have been challenging and assisting students in realizing their individual potential. We sincerely enjoy our role in preparing them for lives of responsibility, service, and achievement.
The focus of our school is academic excellence in a safe, comfortable environment. Riverhill receives accolades for its programs, performance in academic competitions, curriculums, and for our graduates. At the center of this success are a dedicated faculty, motivated students, supportive parents, and a progressive leadership.
Teaching and learning happen in many different ways at our school: students read, write, build, observe, discuss, design multi-media presentations, experiment, run, jump, laugh, sing, paint, sculpt and work together.
Riverhill demonstrates a strong sense of community. It reflects respect for each individual and an appreciation for the differences that characterize the Riverhill family.
Opportunities for community service are an integral part of life at every grade level. Projects include collecting items for our local town hall, planting flowers at a nearby Fire Department, picking up trash, providing smoke detectors, donating mittens, and participating in the local Walk-a-thon.
Students in our upper grades serve as big buddies to those in lower grades. They get together periodically to work on joint projects and celebrate holidays. Very often teachers combine classes and curricular units into unique learning opportunities for students.
Students compete in a variety of sports including basketball, volleyball, tennis, and cheerleading. Riverhill School welcomes the involvement of parents, alumni, grandparents, parents of former students, and friends in the life of the school. Numerous volunteer opportunities offer avenues to learn more about the school and to interact with faculty and parents. These opportunities include service as Room Parents, library volunteers, and participating in fund-raising activities sponsored by the Riverhill Association of Parents and Staff (RAPS).
If you would like more information about our school, please contact me. I look forward to an opportunity to share about our school and assist you.
Sincerely,
Treva Lester
